LTA University Activators
Take the LTA's free online course and become a University Tennis Activator. You don’t need to be a skilled tennis player, the most important qualities are good communication and enthusiasm.
The course will teach you the communication and organisation skills to facilitate a tennis session. It consists of:
- Free online interactive course for students
- Video examples throughout
- Approximately one and a half hours of training to complete
- Content for practices and games

Officiating
Officiating
Have you ever considered being a tennis official or line umpire? Working closely with the LTA we are looking for the next generation of officials to be part of the Officiating Academy!
Free for all students this will a one weekend course which will give you not just 1 qualification but 2!
By joining the academy you will also be supported to achieve the goals of being selected as a Line Umpire for the Wimbledon 2023 and more!
What to expect
This will be an intense weekend course. The course will take you through the basics of line and chair umpiring and the opportunity to make some line calls on court in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. There will be opportunities for those who impress on the course to be selected for the LTA’s summer grass court tournaments.
To pass the course you will need to be able to display enthusiasm, accuracy and the ability to shout loud when calling the ball out!
