JIU i The BUCS Jiu Jitsu Championships shall be conducted in accordance with the following BUCS sport specific regulations, the BUCS general regulations, and the Jiu Jitsu Foundation Atemi Competition Rules. Further event specific requirements, rules, and regulations will be contained within the entry and pre-event information for each Championship.

JIU ii In the event that these regulations contradict the BUCS general regulations, these BUCS sport specific regulations will supersede, unless specifically stated otherwise.

JIU 1 Championships BUCS will host annually a Jiu Jitsu Championships. The programme shall include the events listed in Appendix 1 (‘BUCS Competition Offer and Associated BUCS Points’), subject to entry numbers. All competition specific event information will be available in the event entry information and pre-event information.

JIU 2 All competitors must hold a valid Jiu Jitsu Foundation (TJJF) licence.

JIU 3 Disputes at events In line with REG 7.7, should a dispute occur at an event, the event appeal panel for Jiu Jitsu shall comprise of the Tournament Director and a BUCS Staff Member.

JIU 4 Individual categories

JIU 4.1 The BUCS Jiu Jitsu Championships take place as part of the wider TJJF Atemi Nationals and so BUCS competitors take part in individual grade categories alongside non-BUCS competitors, eligible for both a BUCS placing in the category, and a TJJF placing.

JIU 4.2 The grade category an individual is allocated to is determined by the grade in their TJJF profile. It is the responsibility of individuals to ensure that their profile is up to date.

JIU 4.3 As per JIU 1, the grade categories which will run shall be subject to entry numbers.

JIU 4.4 The highest grade BUCS competitors (based on TJIF profile) are also entered into the separate men’s and women’s BUCS Individual categories.

JIU 5 Team results

JIU 5.1 The Men’s Team and Women’s Team results will be calculate based on the results of the individual grade categories and not those of the BUCS Individual category.

JIU 5.2 Where an individual grade category has a minimum of six BUCS competitors, the top four individual performances by BUCS competitors will be extracted and awarded points which contribute to the team score for their institution/Playing Entity. Four points shall be awarded to first place, three to second place, two to third place, and one to fourth place.
