The Physical Activity Excellence Award was created by BUCS and the Physical Activity and Health Board in 2017. The ambition was to produce a sector standard for higher education institutions to achieve that demonstrates good practice in increasing physical activity engagement across its population. Due to the pandemic applications have been on hold since 2019 but we are pleased to say they reopened earlier this year.
The award is assessed across four pillars; strategy and planning, insight and research, partnerships and collaboration, and implementation and delivery.
We are delighted to say that all 10 applications successfully demonstrated a high level and join the current six award holders as excelling in physical activity provision. The award holders are now also eligible to apply for the esteemed ukactive Physical Activity Excellence Award early next year.
