BUCS Nationals consists of six sports taking place in four venues across the city of Sheffield. Action comes from the athletics track, badminton courts, climbing wall, fencing pistes, karate mats and swimming pool.
Turn the clocks back 12 months and a staggering 14 BUCS records were broken between the Ponds Forge pool and the EIS athletics track, but how many will there be in 2025?
Records might well be broken by the array of Olympians, Paralympians and returning BUCS champions competing this weekend. BUCS Nationals is no stranger to student athletes who have graced the international stage at several World and European competitions.
This high-quality event wouldn’t be possible without a dedicated team, made up of BUCS staff, volunteers and 195 officials. Additionally, supporting partner for the event, AHDB (Milk Every Moment) and badminton partner, Ashaway are vital to the running of this three-day spectacle of higher education sport.
A thank you must also go to the Sheffield City Council, University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University for their ongoing support of BUCS Nationals.
Across the weekend, you’ll be able to watch all three days of our Athletics: Indoor Championships and Swimming: Long Course Championships. We’ll also be streaming the Fencing Finals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening and the Karate Individual Senior Kumite and Kata Finals on Sunday at 5.30pm.
