A delegation of ten athletes from nine different member universities in England, Scotland and Wales will represent GB Students at the FISU World University Shooting Sport Championships in November.

BUCS is sanctioning a GB Students delegation as National University Sports Federation (NUSF) in association with British Shooting to represent the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The Championships will take place in New Delhi, India from 9-13 November.

Shotgun

  • George Eyston (Oxford Brookes University): Represented Great Britain and finished 15th at the ISSF Junior World Cup 2023

  • William Gilbert (University of Nottingham): BSSS round 1 2024 Junior Men's Champion, Junior High Gun and 2nd overall at BICTSF Olympic Trap Grand Prix 2023

  • Oliver Sampson (University of Hull): Represented Great Britain in Finland 2023 with a team gold

Rifle

  • Lloyd Collins-Page (University of Portsmouth): Competed for England at the European commonwealth shooting competition European division. 2nd in the British 50m National Championship

  • Megan Bamsey (Cardiff Met University): Junior British Air Rifle Champion 2022 and 3rd in Senior British Airgun Championships 2024. Represented Great Britain at the Junior World Cup in Germany 2023. Currently ranked 8th in Great Britain

  • Olivia Beech (University of Liverpool): 2nd in Junior Women’s at BOAG 2024. Junior Women’s and Women’s champion at Surrey Open Airgun 2023. 3P Champion at Great Britain Junior International 2022 and 2023. She will compete for Great Britain for the first time in the Junior Nordic Championships in August

Pistol

  • James Miller (Cardiff University): 6th at the Baku World Cup in May 2024. Represented Great Britain at multiple Junior and Senior World Cups, and two World Champs. European Silver medallist at the 2020 European Championships. Represented Great Britain at 2018 Youth Olympic Games and 2023 European Games. Five times consecutive Welsh Champion and currently ranked senior Great Britain no.2 and Welsh no.1

  • Hamish MacDonald (Heriot Watt University): Represented Great Britain at two Junior World Cups. Scottish Junior Men’s Champion 2024. Scottish Junior Men’s runner up in 2023. 3rd at ISAS Dortmund

  • Isobel MacTaggart (University of Stirling): Represented Great Britain at a Junior World Cup. Scottish Junior Women's Champion 2020 and 2022. Bronze in the Senior Women's Scottish championships 2020 and 2022. International medals at various Grand Prix competitions representing Scotland

  • Emily Shawyer (Cardiff Met University): Represented GBR was at ISSF World Cup Pistol Munich 2017. Target Sprint Double Junior Silver Medallist World Championships 2018 Changwon, South Korea. World Number One Target Sprint Junior Women's 2022. Seven gold, three silver and two bronze ISSF Target Sprint Junior Grand Prix medals. Welsh Women's Pistol Champion 2023. Welsh and British Target Sprint Champion 2023
