Tickets for the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals, taking place at Rodney Parade, Newport, on Wednesday 16 April are now on sale.

The culmination of the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championships will see both the men’s and women’s teams facing off on a bumper day of rugby in South Wales, with tickets starting at just £15 for adults and £10 for students.

It will be the first time that the women’s fixture will be played under BUCS Super Rugby status, having been elevated from national league to BUCS’ highest standard of competition this season. This was in part due to the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board’s (AHDB) partnership with BUCS for the Milk Every Moment campaign, which helped fund refereeing costs for the competition.

Graham Wilkinson, AHDB CEO, said: “We’re delighted to support the BUCS Super Rugby Milk Championship Finals, helping to shine a spotlight on the university game. Our Milk Every Moment marketing campaign, is all about championing milk as a natural powerhouse that fuels sporting performance in the next generation. Delicious milk is packed with protein for muscle recovery and calcium for strong bones, it’s a healthier choice over sugary alternatives too. We’re proud to play our part supporting university and college sport and can’t wait to see these incredible teams in action."

This is the first time that the finals of the knockout competitions, which feature the top eight men’s teams from the BSR league competition and six women’s teams, have been held in the rugby hotbed of South Wales.

The Dragons, who own and operate the historic Rodney Parade, came out on top of a formal bidding process to win the rights to the biggest day in university rugby. Last season, Loughborough men and Hartpury women came out on top in two thrilling encounters with Exeter and Loughborough respectively.

Will Roberts, BUCS CEO, said: “The rugby union finals are one of the most exciting days in the BUCS calendar, and we can’t wait to see the top teams in the country competing for the crown.

“I’d like to express my gratitude to the Dragons for being such enthusiastic and welcoming hosts. We’re delighted to be taking the finals to Wales for the first time.

“Good luck to all the teams competing over the coming months - I look forward to another thrilling finals day in April!”
