The partnership, originally launched in 2018, centres around supporting BUCS and its institutions, providing cutting-edge fitness and wellness solutions. With a dedicated team of experts working specifically in higher education, Technogym has a rich history of creating world-class facilities with BUCS members, developing both performance sport and physical activity on campuses across the UK.
As an exciting new activation, Technogym is delighted to announce a £5,000 prize for the winner of the BUCS Participation Programme of the Year at the BUCS Awards 2022. The winning institution will be able to use this to continue driving their participation and physical activity offers on campus.
Technogym has seen significant growth within higher education throughout the partnership, with some of the biggest sporting institutions in the UK backing Technogym’s wellness solutions, including Loughborough University, University of Stirling, University of Birmingham, University of Warwick and Heriot-Watt University.
Other institutions, including Newcastle University, Lancaster University, and the University of Sunderland, have benefited from Technogym’s ability and service to create a personalised wellness journey tailored to each individual student and their fitness goals.
In addition, Technogym has been tackling prevalent societal issues through their recently published whitepaper, in conjunction with BUCS, highlighting the post-pandemic challenges and opportunities within higher education sport and physical activity. Insights were given from over ten principal figures within the sporting industry, and the whitepaper showcases how the sector can bounce back from COVID-19.
Ben Sandham, Technogym UK Sales Director – Health, Corporate and Performance, said: “We are delighted to extend the partnership with BUCS as we continue to support the sector with innovative solutions, knowledge, and support. We are incredibly proud of the partnerships we have established and the work we have completed and look forward to building on this further in the years ahead.”
Vince Mayne, BUCS CEO, comments on the partnership extension: “We are delighted with the impact Technogym has had on our member institutions over the past five years; from performance-led fitness solutions, to industry leading thought leadership, to raising awareness of societal issues.”
“We also recognise the growth that is still possible with Technogym’s commitment to developing the higher education sport sector. I am confident this partnership will continue to evolve, working to expand and better the sector whilst still supporting and promoting the needs of all involved across the UK.”
