Following the growth of American football in the United Kingdom, BUCS and BAFA (British American Football Association) are excited to welcome American Football to the BUCS Big Wednesday schedule.
American Football will be the curtain-raiser for the biggest BUCS Wednesday of the year. Last year, the finals sat separately to BUCS Big Wednesday but now the finalists will join an incredible day of team sports and showcase the quality of American Football in the Higher Education sector.
Marcus Boswell, BUCS Competition Commission Lead at BAFA, said:
"After continuous discussion between BAFA and BUCS since the confirmation of the sport’s inclusion into the BUCS Big Wednesday programme, we are excited at the prospect of what these Tuesday evening fixtures can offer.
"Maintaining a high standard of facility with the University of Nottingham’s venue, whilst receiving the many added benefits of being part of the wider event, should make for a fantastic spectacle, and one which we hope will offer the highest level of enhanced student experience playing in the Finals."
The excitement doesn’t stop there. BUCS and BAFA are pulling out all the stops to mark the occasion with both finals being live-streamed.
