BUCS is delighted to announce a partnership with US summer camp provider AmeriCamp.

Voted the best summer camp organisation in America for eight years running, AmeriCamp will offer BUCS athletes the summer of a lifetime. The new partnership provides students with the opportunity to earn a minimum of $2000 working abroad at a summer camp in the USA, using skills and experience gained from their involvement in sport.

AmeriCamp value BUCS athletes not just for their sporting and active abilities, but for their leadership and communication skills, making them the perfect camp leaders.

As part of the partnership, AmeriCamp will be a supporting partner at some of BUCS’ biggest events: Short Course Swimming Championships, Rowing 4s and 8s Head, and our flagship event, BUCS Nationals. The former featured over 1,500 competitors from 81 different universities, whilst BUCS Nationals brought together over 4,000 students to compete across five different sports. AmeriCamp’s presence with these events will provide them with the perfect platform to showcase the opportunities that a summer at camp can offer.

Duncan Jones, BUCS Chief Operating Officer, commented on the partnership: “We are excited to welcome AmeriCamp as our latest partner. AmeriCamp will provide BUCS athletes with tremendous opportunities, from being involved in the best summer camp to creating lasting memories and friendships.

Supporting and providing BUCS athletes with new opportunities is a key focus for us, and AmeriCamp are committed to enhancing and enriching students’ lives, as well as their future employment opportunities.”

Nick Steiert, AmeriCamp Co-Founder said: “We are absolutely delighted that AmeriCamp has become a partner of BUCS. Since our inception in 2010, we have changed thousands of lives for the better by giving them the dream summer of a lifetime working in the USA, and we cannot wait to start offering this opportunity to the members of BUCS.”

I personally worked at camp when I was a student, and it was a magical and unforgettable experience. Given everything we as a society have gone through over the past couple of years, it’s very important that we continue to look forward by focusing on personal development and something like the opportunity to work over the summer in the USA teaching the sport you love, will not only provide both unforgettable memories and a very enriching leadership experience, but also allows you to create amazing new lifetime friendships with people from all around the world.”
