LUSL is the exclusive regional competition offer for London universities and their students, that has been run by BUCS since 2012. There are 13 sports offered in league and knockout competitions, as well as a number of individual and team events, including tennis and flag football. The LUSL programme runs during term time from October to March each year.
LUSL is a great opportunity to get involved, get active and have fun whilst competing against other teams of similar ability. It's unique in that it offers students the chance to take control and really get involved in organising competitions and fixtures to best fit you. Students will have the opportunity throughout the year to get involved with officiating and coaching courses, have a chance to volunteer and help with the running of the competitions and guide the future sports and programmes of LUSL.
How is LUSL different to BUCS Wednesdays:
- There are no BUCS points given away.
- Everyone* can get involved. from students to staff, from sports clubs to societies to departments.
- Every game is like a varisty with all teams being within the London region, meaning less travel time and more cost effective.
*part of a London university or London-based campus.
This programme is what we like to call 'by the membership, for the membership'. Your feedback is important and if you have any suggestions for one-off events that you would like us to deliver or sports added to the LUSL league and knockout programme offering, all you have to do is get in contact, and providing there is student demand, our Regional Competitions and Event Coordinator will be on hand to support.
