Description

British Dressage is the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of dressage in the UK. There has never been a better time to join the team at BD and be part of the fastest growing equestrian discipline, where over 19,000 members take part in 3,000 days of affiliated dressage competition every year. Reporting to the Training and Education Manager, you will be responsible for developing and organising in person and online training for stakeholder groups on topics relating to equine welfare.

You will also work alongside the Sport Operations team to ensure that welfare related matters are managed in accordance with the relevant welfare policies and procedures detailed in the BD Members’ Handbook. As such, prior experience of working in a compliance, safeguarding or welfare related case handling role would be advantageous. Specific knowledge of dressage and the equestrian industry and/or officiating in sport would also be beneficial. This is a busy and varied role where good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills are essential, along with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude. The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, even when coordinating numerous training activities simultaneously.

The ability to multi-task while taking a diligent, structured approach to your work is vital. You will be expected to build strong relationships with the other members of the British Dressage team at head office as well as our volunteer network and other relevant stakeholder groups. This is a full-time role, with the potential for hybrid working, based at the British Dressage head office in Meriden, in accordance with an agreed staff rota.

Please note that due to the nature of our sport a flexible approach to working is required, including some weekend and evening working. Candidates will be required to have a full driving license and have access to their own car for travel, as well as a suitable home working environment with good internet access.
