Description

Job Purpose

To deliver a professionally led Hockey programme for UWE students under the Head Hockey Coach. To have focus on developing players and coaches within the coaching plan, with a focus on BUCS competitions (League and Cup) with the aim of gaining BUCS points. And, to support UWE HC, specifically the Men’s second team throughout the season.

Role Expectations

1. To deliver the coaching programme for UWE Hockey with the aim to enhance consistency, raise standards and build strong pathways across the development squads.

2. To be responsible for ensuring that all sessions are run safely and report incidents, injuries and/or welfare concerns

3. To work with the Head Hockey Coach in delivering the coaching plan and to provide regular feedback regarding player development and requirements throughout the season

4. To deliver sessions throughout the season for one or more of the development squads within the club, including weekly feedback on session plans to be fed back to the Head Hockey Coach and captains

5. To work the UWE HC Men’s seconds regarding coaching focus areas and playing principles, in line with the Head Hockey Coaches philosophy. You will be expected to develop a game model that

6. To help develop training programmes to develop individuals and teams to achieve results in the BUCS leagues and cups in line with Head Coach targets and responsible for weekly team selections for each development squad

7. To ensure playing principles, guidelines and resources developed by the Head Hockey Coach, are filtered down across the section via your deliver and that of the student coaches

8. To work as part of the UWE coaching team and share and deliver best practice

9. To make suggestions to improve the club through monthly meetings and termly reports

10.To attend meetings when required – UWE Bristol meetings / UWE HC Coach meetings / Coaching Network Meetings | CPD Workshops

11.To ensure the Club have provided you with equipment you need to deliver

12.To work within the guidelines of the University and the Students Union Health and Safety guidance, code of conduct whilst promoting safeguarding and well-being of players

13.To report and accident or incident in line with the Coaches Manual guidelines

14.To work within the equal opportunity’s framework

15.To provide a good role model for the players

16.To ensure you are up to date with your sports minimum standards and have a track record of CPD

17.Any other reasonable duties that fall within the scope of the post as allocated by the CPM & HHC following consultation
