Key headlines of this role include but are not limited to:
- Managing of the Operations Team (Technical, H&S and Grounds)
- Management of the delivery of the varied facilities within Southampton Sport, through the maintenance of efficient facility operations which support the strategic aims of the service and Residences, Sport & Community Services Directorate
- To work in partnership with team leaders/managers within Southampton Sport to ensure excellence in operations is promoted and delivered across all teams within the service
- To support the vision of the Residences, Sport & Community Services Directorate and University
- You will manage the daily operations across our sport provision, with facilities that include Jubilee Sports Centre, Wide Lane Sports Ground and further work within a maintenance and health and safety perspective for Mayflower Gym and Watersports.
- The Operations Manager will be required to work at pace and look for solutions that mitigate any impact to our customers.
This role is typically working Monday to Friday, but at times will be required at weekends to support the business needs.
One of the key objectives for this role is to ensure we operate to our normal operating and emergency action plans. You will have experience in working within a multi-functional team; ensuring that you align works and outputs towards our Sport Strategic Plan 2020-2025.

Health and safety, along with facility management is an important part of this role. You will be required to ensure we are working to best practice, whilst supporting and managing our processes and procedures for health, safety, operations and compliance.
You will create, enhance, and maintain important stakeholder and contractual relationships internally and externally.
