Description

The University of Nottingham has invested significantly into its sporting infrastructure, with a £40m Sports Village and substantial investment into its coaching and development support for our 75 sports clubs and 120+ active teams. The University placed 2nd overall in the BUCS league table in 2021-22 and were awarded The Sunday Times Good University Guide Sports University of the Year 2019 and 2021.

The University of Nottingham Men’s Hockey Club consists of 7 teams and a development squad. The 1st team compete in BUCS National League (the top level of BUCS Hockey) and in England Hockey Premier Division on weekends. Hockey is one of University of Nottingham’s High-Performance sports and receive several addition support services including S&C, Sports Nutrition, Sports Psychology, injury treatment and pitch side support. The Second team are reigning BUCS Premier North League champions and have recently finished 2nd in the National League Mens Conference Midlands, confirming them as the highest ranked 2nd team in the country.

We are currently seeking an experienced Hockey Coach for the 2023/24 academic year who will act as Head Coach for our 2nd team.

The coach will deliver an innovative and effective Hockey programme to support the development of elite and competitive Hockey within the club. The coach will ideally hold at least a Level 2 coaching qualification. The coach will lead all aspects of the men’s 2nd team programme as well as provide support for our 1st team head coach. The deliverer must also hold appropriate personal liability insurance.

The minimum 314 hours of the contract is over a 40 week period, which will include coaching delivery and attendance at matches however additional hours can be tendered for if deemed necessary to achieve the required outcomes that will be set out in the tender document.
