The University of Nottingham has invested significantly into it’s sporting infrastructure, with a £40m Sports Village and substantial investment into it’s coaching and development support for our 75 sports clubs and 120+ active teams. The University placed 2nd overall in the BUCS league table in 2018-19 and were awarded The Sunday Times Good University Guide Sports University of the Year 2019 and 2021.

We are currently seeking an experienced assistant cycling coach for the 2021/22 academic year. This is a fixed term contract from September 2021 – June 2022, within this contract the coach, ideally holding at least a Level 1 British Cycling coaching award or equivalent, will help deliver an innovative and effective programme to support the development of the sport within the university. The deliverer must also hold appropriate personal liability insurance.

The role includes supporting the improvement of engage and lower development level riders within the ‘engage, development and performance’ pathway of the University of Nottingham Cycling Club. You will work alongside Head Coach Bryan Steel to provide and deliver training programmes as well as mentoring riders through feedback on training and face-to-face attendance at club rides, indoor cycling sessions, track sessions and events.

Whilst this is a short term contract, for the right candidate we will look to extend the contract into future years.

The contract will be for a maximum of 132 at a rate of £12.50 per hour.
