Description

University of Manchester Sport is responsible for managing the University owned sports facilities and providing a wide range of opportunities for the University community to take part in sport and physical activity at all levels. The University also provides a permanent playing and training venue for several local sports clubs and leagues and plays host to major sporting events and competitions throughout the year.

We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to assist in the daily operation of the University’s sport facilities at the Armitage Sports Centre. Facilities include sports halls, gym, dance studio, squash courts and extensive outdoor synthetic and grass pitches.

You must have experience of working in sport facilities and services within indoor and outdoor venues.

Responsibilities within the role include, sports ground maintenance, setting up and dismantling equipment, administering first aid, daily upkeep of all public areas and delivering excellent customer service to all users. Effective communication, attention to detail and customer care skills are essential to provide a welcoming and friendly environment. You will be required to adhere to the safe use of equipment whilst ensuring that high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are always delivered.

A recognised qualification in fitness instruction and / or grounds maintenance to a minimum level of NVQ level 2 or equivalent is desirable. You will be required to work on a fixed shift pattern which includes daytime evenings and weekends.
