Description
The role holder will provide an important, visible presence in the fitness facilities and proactively engage with our customers. They will also assist with University Sports Centre operations more broadly and work with staff at our external sports grounds when needed.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to quickly build a rapport with a range of customers and the motivation to proactively encourage and support individuals with their fitness, health, and wellbeing goals. They will be flexible and responsive in their approach and work collaboratively with other staff to provide a welcoming, safe, clean and positive environment for customers.
A level 2 gym instructor qualification is required for this role and the candidate should have demonstrable knowledge of health and safety related requirements in sport and fitness facilities. A recognised First Aid at Work and Automated De-fibrillation qualification (or the ability to achieve these) is also essential.
Interviews will take place during the week commencing 23 January 2023.
Once an offer of employment has been accepted, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a health assessment.
This role is available on a full-time basis, but the Sports Service also welcomes applications from those wishing to work on a part-time (job share) basis or term-time only.
