Description
As a Swim Co-ordinator you will work with wider operations team to co-ordinate the Learn 2 Swim programme, its growth and maintenance of an excellent customer experience. The programme is a 7-day operation, with additional oversight of swimming crash courses, adult swimming lessons and 1-1 teaching. You will plan, deliver and then oversee the coordination of a high-quality swimming programme delivered to children aged 4-14, teenagers 14-18 and adults 18+.
This role will see the post holder overseeing the lessons on a given day of the week where they will be responsible for the structure, attainment, and progress of swimmers in the session. They will directly line manage up to 8 swimming teachers (across 2 coordinator roles). Through the admin side of this role the job holder will be responsible for setting up new swimmers on the system, monitoring progress of swimmers throughout the programme and liaising with the parents and any other issues that arise.
The job holder will be jointly responsible for chasing non-paying attending swimmers and proactively approaching the retention targets of the team. These are part time roles working 27.75 hours per week Shift patterns are Monday - Friday 4-7pm Saturday/Sunday - 9am - 2pm with daytime work involving adult lessons across the week. A enhanced DBS check will be carried out for the successful candidates.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead a group of teachers through the planned programme
Take responsibility got and help develop any swimming teachers and swim teaching assistants working on the programme
Act as a mentor to other teachers on the scheme; observations and feedback to staff members
Complete induction process for any new swim teachers
Awareness of temp spend and budget, ensuring the budget spent effectively
Ensure that the swimmers are developed appropriately and that teachers always adhere to health and safety guidelines
Accountable to safety and welfare of all pool users
Skills and Experience Full L
evel 2 Teaching Qualification (UK recognised- either STA or Swim England awarded)
Some experience of working with children in a learning environment
Experience of working as part of a team Proven track record of working within a Swimming programme
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of technology to assess swimmers on tablets
Ability to demonstrate organizational skills
Ability to plan a series of lessons for a group of children Knowledge of safeguarding Knowledge of the Swim England Assessment criteria
An understanding of equality and diversity Punctual and able to work using own initiative
