The Role

Our Sport Hallam coaches are responsible for developing skills, performance and overall physical and mental wellbeing of our student athletes, teams and club members. Using their experience and expertise they will plan and provide personalised coaching and through effective communication help guide our students to achieve their full potential. A Sport Hallam coach plays a key role in fostering a positive and supporting environment in line with the Sport Hallam values for our student participants and help shape goals and contribute to continuous improvement.

A Sport Hallam coach will also ensure our students adhere to best practice, sportsmanship, safety and discipline in relation to their specific sport and activity, promoting Individual growth and team cohesion. We expect our coaches to nurture a culture of respect, resilience and a love for the sport. To plan and lead effective training sessions and prepare student athletes for competition. Attending competition/games days to support with student-athletes performance. Cultivate a positive team culture built on discipline, respect, and sportsmanship. Provide coaching expertise to improve the quality and standard of training and development.

The Team

Here at Team Hallam, we have something for everyone. From competitive or performance sport. Our clubs offer a chance to play competitively in university sport leagues and tournaments, as well our annual Varsity competition. We have 40 student-run sports clubs and enter over 65 teams into the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league programme.
