This is an exciting opportunity to lead, manage and deliver high quality coaching to our BUCS teams in Tier 1 or Premier.
The University has high ambitions for our performance teams; therefore, we require an individual who is committed, proactive and productive to assist with this.
The successful candidate will have at last two years of relevant practical experience working within their field and must have obtained at least a level 3 coaching qualification and a degree in Sports Coaching, Development, or Management or equivalent. They will manage the training schedule and load for both 1st and 2nd teams (where applicable). They will also administer a trial process if needed, all whilst maintaining transparency of selection processes and pathways between teams. Where applicable, helping to the aid the development of a 2nd team is also desirable.
Excellent interpersonal skills are vital as it is expected that you would act as a mentor to student coaches within in the club (where appropriate), as well as collaborating with support services such as the Sports Conditioning Intern and Sports Rehabilitation placement students.
The ideal candidate must be organised and flexible to meet with the demands of the teams training programme as well as provide monthly reports to the Student Sports Officer. Please note that team training times vary, and fixtures are predominantly played on a Wednesday afternoon.
