Oxford University Sport is seeking to engage with a consultant Sport Nutritionist to work as part of the Blues Performance Scheme.
The Blues Performance Scheme supports high performance teams and individual student athletes to improve their long-term performance in sport whilst balancing their academic commitments at one of the world’s most renowned universities. The Scheme encompasses a wide variety of elite athletes competing at international level (GB Athletics, Wales and USA Rugby, GB Sailing, GB Rowing, GB Fencing and GB Orienteering) and an extensive network of high performing athletes competing in the British Universities premier divisions.
The role will provide a platform to work with a wide variety of high-level athletes in group, and 1-2-1 sessions.
As part of the role you will work alongside other members of the sports services team and specialists from other areas of sports science to successfully provide a holistic athletic development service to Oxford’s student athletes.
Role;
- Deliver a one-off, Introduction to Sports Nutrition to the sportspeople of Oxford University.
- Deliver team specific nutritional support to large variety of sports teams, ranging from Ultimate Frisbee to Rugby Union.
- Deliver 1-2-1 athlete specific nutritional support to our individual performance athletes.
- Attend multidisciplinary meetings with top performing teams.
- Effectively communicate with team captains and coaches regarding the nutrition support objectives, content and outcomes.
- Administration of sessions, including communicating best times for team sessions with team captains and delivery of support through virtual means.
Requirements;
- SENr (Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register) Registrant AND/OR - High Performance Registrant or BDA (British Dietetic Association) Associate/Full Member AND/OR - BASES accredited
- Experience working with high performance and elite athletes.
- Experience conducting sports nutrition workshops and training sessions with sports teams and individual athletes. Preferably within multiple sports.
- Excellent written, communication, and administration skills
Remuneration:
Dependant on experience. Guide sessional rate of £50-100.
Expected Hours:
Annual academic hours between 65-75 hours of delivery.
Location:
We are open to considering both in-person and virtual delivery so welcome applications from all over the UK. (In person @Blues Performance Gym, Iffley Rd Sports Centre, Oxford).
