Description
The Head of Rugby Union will be the lead coach for the men’s BUCS 1st team, working with a multidisciplinary team to achieve success within BUCS.
The role will lead the recruitment and management of a team of casual coaches delivering on the wider rugby union programme. Reporting into the Student Sport Manager the role will play an integral part in the strategic direction of the sport within the University.
The role will join Northumbria Sport, a core department within Campus Services. Northumbria Sport is responsible for delivering an excellent student experience through our range of sport, fitness and wellbeing programmes.
The role will be located across a number of sites including Sport Central, Coach Lane and a range of external venues.
We are looking for a forward-thinking individual, with an exceptional background in coaching that can drive forward a successful performance programme, with an ambition to be a leading University in the UK for student rugby union.
To be successful in the role you will have experience of coaching and recruiting high level players, a strong knowledge of Higher Education sporting structures and purposes, the ability to enthuse and inspire players to achieve.
