Description
About the Roles:
· We are currently seeking two coaches (one for the 1st team and one for the 2nd team)
· Training sessions primarily take place at Somers Town Community Sports Centre, with additional sessions at external courts as needed
· The general schedule includes training 3 times a week
· Additionally, coaches will be required during weekly BUCS games, typically held on Wednesdays, with occasional travel to nearby cities
Main Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement an effective coaching program to enhance the performance and experience of our playing members. · Lead training sessions and oversee all coaching activities within the club, delegating tasks to additional coaches as needed.
· Manage and attend BUCS fixtures, ensuring the team is well-prepared and motivated for competition.
· Collaborate with team captains, as well as other coaches, to select playing squads and maintain transparent selection processes.
· Ensure all coaching sessions adhere to health and safety standards and operate within an equal opportunities’ framework.
Requirements (Must-Have):
· Level 2 coaching qualification
· First Aid qualification
· Relevant and demonstrable experience in coaching basketball
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Strong planning and organisational abilities
· Ability to plan, develop, and deliver high-quality coaching sessions
· Commitment, passion, and responsibility
· Valid DBS check or willingness to undergo one
· Commitment to equal opportunities and understanding of health and safety and safeguarding procedures Desirable
Qualifications and Experience:
· Experience working with young adults/students
· Hold or are working towards a Level 3 coaching qualification
