Description

The role would require the successful candidate to coach the 1st and 2nd teams together for 2 hours 1 evening per week and would be expected to attend up to 10 matches between September 2021 and May 2022, taking place on Saturdays (subject to negotiation with the coaching team).

The Edinburgh University 1st team have been finalists in the Scottish Cup in 2018 and 2019 and have consistently topped the Scottish 1A league since 2012, with the second team also consistently placing highly in this league. As we are the best University team in Scotland and the second-best team in Scotland overall, our aim is to get into the BUCS Premier League in 2022.

This is a great opportunity to work with committed and talented players striving to achieve this goal as well as working in a high-performance environment. Candidates should be UKCC Level 2 qualified and have experience coaching competitive teams. This role would require the successful applicant to build a netball program to aid our top teams in achieving the next level of performance, supporting them to develop their skills and enhance their teamwork.

Edinburgh University Netball Club is run by a dedicated committee of 18 students, supported by Development and Performance staff from the University.

The successful applicant will be supported by our Sports Union and benefits include a gym membership at the University of Edinburgh’s Sport and Exercise facilities, as well as kit and membership of UoE’s Coaching and Volunteering Academy, providing access to a range of workshops, CPD funding, and mentoring opportunities.
