Coventry University Students’ Union recognises the importance of delivering a high quality competitive sporting offer for our current students experience and success.

We are looking for an individual who can support our Sports Team working as a Sports Coordinator.

This role will be working to increase the levels of sport activities with our students and staff on campus, and with the local community. This role will also engage with sport clubs and work with them to fulfil their potential through participation at all levels. The ideal candidate should hold a qualification in sport, health or wellbeing together with working experience of sports projects demonstrating successful participation and engagement.

You will have experience of working with students or young people, and have knowledge of higher education sport activities and programmes. Experience of dealing with a range of partnerships and training volunteers is also essential. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting fairness, opportunity and equity. They’ll be organised and a great communicator, capable of presenting and training students as well as creating documents for different audiences and speaking up in meetings. Most of all, they’ll be positive and good at building rapport with stakeholders. The successful candidate will have experience and understanding of modern media techniques and of improving engagement with hard to reach audiences both face to face and digitally. Experience of working with student groups, planning and delivering events and high-quality administrative skills are key.

This post is permanent working full-time 37.5 hours per week, a flexible approach to working hours is required. As an organisation we do have an agile working programme.

For this role the successful candidate will be required to work on campus a minimum of 3 days a week during term time. This will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.
