An established research profile in the field of Strength and Conditioning or related area, and teaching experience on relevant programmes is essential.

Principal duties and responsibilities:

You will be required to make a significant contribution to the delivery of our taught portfolio contributing to the delivery of BSc (Hons) Sport Conditioning Rehabilitation and Massage and potentially the MSc Sport Rehabilitation, as well as other areas of our core curriculum depending on your areas of expertise and experience.

Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy, you will contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

You will also make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level.

What we are looking for:

A PhD in a related field or relevant professional experience

Professionally accredited with a relevant professional association

A good level of knowledge of specialist subject and professional area.

A sound understanding of pedagogy.

A sound understanding of research/innovation and scholarly activity

Ability to develop teaching programmes and support learning

Experience of teaching in Higher Education

Ability to employ appropriate assessment methods

Ability to support the development of research objectives, projects or proposals.

Ability to undertake administrative duties in an accurate and timely fashion.

Ability to plan workloads and projects and manage resources effectively.

Ability to identify areas for improvement and to use initiative and problem solving skills to improve performance.

Ability to take responsibility for a number of key areas such as module tutor, personal tutor and research supervision at undergraduate level.

Ability to communicate and disseminate complex and conceptual ideas in a variety of ways – presentations at conferences reports on findings, publications, feedback etc.

Ability to develop productive working relationships as part of a professional team

Ability to work collaboratively on research & innovation projects through the development of appropriate partnerships

An established or promising research profile and very good teaching experience on relevant programmes is essential.
