Description

British Dressage is the National Governing Body for the Olympic and Paralympic sport of dressage in the UK. Following the success of Tokyo 2020 and the World Championships in Herning 2022, dressage is enjoying a public profile like never before, with over 18,500 members taking part in more than 2,500 days of affiliated competition every year. We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic person with excellent administrative and customer service skills to join our Training and Education team.

The Training & Education Officer will have specific responsibility for the delivery of coaching and workforce development, to ensure that BD provides high quality training and development programmes and initiatives that support the core coaching and officials’ qualifications. In this role, you will be responsible for organising online and in-person training for coaches and officials, as well as supporting the delivery of assessments.

The Training & Education Officer will act as the lead for the National Development Programme for Coaching Excellence (NDPCE) and other CPD activities, while working closely with colleagues in the T&E team to plan and organise other professional development activities for BD’s workforce.

This is a busy and varied role where good communication, interpersonal and organisation skills are essential, along with a proactive ‘can do’ attitude. You will be expected to build strong relationships with the other members of the BD team as well as other stakeholder groups within the sport.

The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail and be able to co-ordinate multiple activities simultaneously. Due to the varied nature of this role, the ability to multi-task while still taking a diligent, structured approach to your work is vital. A good understanding of the equestrian sector and knowledge of dressage is essential, while experience of sport coaching programmes and professional qualifications would also be advantageous.

Reporting to the Training and Education Manager, this is a full-time role based at our Head Office in Meriden, West Midlands, with the option of hybrid working for up to two days per week from home.

Candidates will be required to have a full driving license, have access to their own car for travel, and a suitable home working environment with good internet access.

Due to the nature of our sport a flexible approach is required, including some weekend and evening working.
