Main Duties & Responsibilities:
To design, implement and develop a comprehensive American Football coaching programme to support the American Football Team.
To develop and implement a fair & equitable talent identification, recruitment and selection system.
To work closely with the Head of Sport, Health and Wellbeing and the Student Sport Manager to support the recruitment of additional coaching staff and volunteers to the programme and work closely with existing coaches to develop a successful and cohesive coaching offer.
To work closely with the American Football Student Committee to support recruitment, promotional and pastoral activities carried out by the Club. To work closely with the Athletic Union and the Student Committee to ensure match day activities run smoothly. To understand and abide by BUCS rules and regulations and ensure all coach staff and students also adhere to these.
To work with closely with the Strength & Conditioning Head Coach to implement a robust and coherent athlete development programme for the American Football team.
To work with the Sports Therapy Clinic to ensure all Club Members are aware and follow Concussion testing and treatment protocols and that student physical and mental wellbeing is prioritised.
Experience and qualifications.
Level 2 BAFCA qualification or working towards this. Substantial experience of coaching American Football players of a high standard Experience of coaching with a HE environment is desirable but not essential.
Requirements Regular attendance at team training session twice a week (currently Tuesdays and Thursdays) Attendance at all home and away BUCS matches and play offs (a minimum of 9 matches a year)
You will also be required to complete the UKAD Coach Clean e-learning module if you haven’t already done so.
