Registration
All players must register at their venue 30 MINUTES prior to their first match time each day. Late arrivals cannot have their match rescheduled and so will be scratched from the event (including the plate) and be subject to a fine for DNS.
First match times (and venues) on Friday are as follows:
Nottingham Squash Rackets Club – 10:00
David Ross Sports Village – 10:00
Withdrawals
Withdrawals must be submitted in writing by the Institution Administrator to Maddi Cannell
The following fines apply:
- Withdrawals after Version 1 of the draw have been released will receive a £50 fine. Version 1 of the draw will be released on Tuesday 5th December.
- Withdrawals after 12pm on Wednesday 6th December will receive a £75 fine
- No shows (DNS) on the day will receive a £100 fine
- Withdrawals during the competition will receive a £25 fine
Medical notes will only be accepted for new injuries. If you have an existing medical condition and choose to enter the competition, you will still face a fine if you withdraw. Please see Regulation 7.9 for more information.

Parking
Parking restrictions on campus apply Monday-Friday and all visitors will be required to display a ticket from the machine or alternatively make use of our RingGo app service – note, visitors of the David Ross Sports Village can make use of 2 hours free parking with a ticket or via the app. There are no parking charges over the weekend but please do park in an appropriately marked bay only and adhere to any guidance displayed. No parking is permitted on grassed areas. A map of campus can be found attached with parking options immediately surrounding the David Ross Sports Village, on Beeston Lane and as well as the following halls of residences which are in close proximity to the sports village: Beeston Lane, Sherwood Hall, Derby Hall, Bowling Green, Ancaster, Cavendish or Willoughby Hall.

Changing Facilities / Bag Store
There are accessible changing facilities located on the ground floor of David Ross Sports Village. These are not exclusive use for BUCS competitors.
There will be a bag drop located between courts 3-6, however we STRONGLY advise competitors to utilise the lockers located around the corridors of David Ross Sports Village. You will need to bring a padlock should you wish to use the lockers.
Food / Drink
The University of Nottingham Clubhouse Café will be open from 08:00-19:00 for the duration of the competition. This can be found just inside the entrance to the David Ross Sports Village.

Parking
Please see attachments for Parking Permits and Instructions. Anyone that does not comply with these instructions may receive a PCN notice if parked outside of the instructions.

Changing Facilities / Bag Storage
There are accessible changing facilities located in the main building. These are not exclusive to BUCS competitors.

Food / Drink
There will be a catering unit directly outside to the Nottingham Squash Rackets Club for the duration of the competition.
Squash Shop - Nottingham Squash Rackets Club
The squash shop at Nottingham Squash Rackets Club will be open Friday 8th and Saturday 9th December 2023 11:00-16:00.
The shop will be able to offer same day stringing but people can book their racket in advance if they get in touch via the website.
Presentations
All presentations will take place at ~14:45 on Sunday 10th December 2023 at the David Ross Sports Village next to the show court.
Sustainability
The sustainability of our event matters to us and these are the positive steps we are taking to manage our environmental impact:
- All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
- We have used local suppliers where possible
- Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use
- We will print on demand merchandise (if applicable)
How can you help at this event? Here’s some ideas:
- Be self-sufficient by using refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste
- Travel smarter – as a team on a minibus, cycle or use public transport
- Go paperless - use your phone for all event information
