Entry Costs

£300 per team

£2,299 Yacht Charter Fee of Beneteau Oceanis 37 on a bareboat basis including race premium, cruising chute, overnight berthing for one night in Cowes and race management. An advance payment of the Charter Fee will be required at the time of acceptance of entry to Fairview Sailing and allocation of a yacht as set out in the NOR and charter terms.

Staged Entry

Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged £350.

Entry Allowance

Maximum of 15 teams.

Additional teams will be added to a waiting list.

Entry Process

Step 1: BUCS Yachting Championships 2025 Skipper Approval Form – Each entrant will be required to provide a sailing CV and list of qualifications for their proposed skipper and first mate. This will decide the entries into the Championship on a first come first serve basis. This can be completed using this Google Form. The form is open now and will close at 23:59 on Saturday 14th December 2024.

Step 2: If a team’s application is successful, from Monday 16th December 2024 the team will receive an email confirming their place in the Championship with the Fairview Sailing booking form attached.

Step 3: By no later than 23:59 on Friday 28th February 2025, submit a completed Fairview Sailing booking form and await to receive a confirmation from Fairview that they can charter a Fairview Oceanis 37.

Step 4: Upon receiving Fairview approval, entries can then be made on BUCS Play. Entry process for BUCS Play – Deadlines can be found above under Entry Closing Dates:

  1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to enter the correct number of teams for you.
  3. Competitors (Skipper and ALL crew members) then need to apply for the respective event. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  4. Institution Administrators must assign competitors to the correct team during the approval process. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)

Rules and Regulations

BUCS Sailing Rules and Regulations

The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing 2025-28.

The sailing instructions will be available no later than 23:59 on Monday 31st March 2025.

Photography & Videography

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
