STAGED ENTRY

Should the competition allow more entries a Stage 2 Entry window will open. Priority will remain with the entries received before the Stage 1 entry closing date. Entries received in the Stage 2 window and accepted into the competition, will be charged an additional 20% fee. Should a Stage 2 window, open, new deadlines will be publicised.

For all sailing events, ALL competitors must be on the competitors and reserves list as well as in their respective teams. If this is not the case, your entry will be voided and you will not be able to compete.

For the team sailing events, competitors must have joined both their team (for example, BUCS Blue) and the competitors and reserve list (BUCS competitors and reserves list). The competitors and reserves list can be found on the events tab of the sailing 22-23 community on BUCS play, along with the team racing qualifiers event.

Please ensure you join the competitors and reserves list and ensure a captain/administrator approves you prior to Thursday 2 February at 23:59pm.

The following apply in respect of entries:

Each Member Club will be allocated an entry before another Member Club is given a second entry;

Each Member Club will be allocated a second entry before another Member Club is given a third and final entry, and;

In all other respects, entries will be allocated based on the date and time of receipt.

Please note, each team shall consist of 6 competitors, at least two female and two male sailors. Spaces are limited to twenty teams at each qualifier (a maximum of three teams per university).

All institutions participating in BUSA/BUCS events are required to be members of BUSA. The annual subscription, as described on the BUSA website, is required in order to participate. This fee includes your club’s RYA affiliation. If you have not joined please contact [email protected]. If your university requires a purchase order number to be included on your invoice, please include this on your email.

It is the responsibility of either the individual or institution to ensure that all entrants have appropriate insurance in order to compete. BUSA and BUCS DO NOT insure any competitor for any of their events.

Sailors should contact BUSA ([email protected]) after their entry has been submitted, so we can ensure that sufficient support has been put in place.

All team racing events will be subject to the Racing Rules of Sailing with Appendix D included. There are changes to these rules made by the notice of race and sailing instructions for this event, which can be found here.

This event will also abide by the BUCS Sailing Rules and Regulations, which can be found here. In the event that these regulations contradict the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing or the RYA Racing Charter, these BUCS sport specific regulations will supersede, unless specifically stated otherwise.

Any withdrawals made prior to the team entry deadline (12 January 2023 at 23:59pm), in writing (email) to Chris Lamb will not be charged the entry fee.

Any withdrawals made after the team entry deadline (12 January 2023 at 23:59pm) will still be charged the entry fee.
