Entry Costs

£260 per team + £430 charter fee

BUCS Points

BUCS points are awarded to the institutions of the top 8 finishing teams.

1st place: 50

2nd place: 35

3rd place: 24

4th place: 16

5th place: 14

6th place: 12

7th place: 10

8th place: 8

Entry Allowance

Maximum entry capacity is 16 teams.

The OA reserves the right to increase to increase the maximum number of entries. The OA intends to invite entries in the following order:

  • In the first instance, entries will be allocated based on the skippers’ World Sailing Open Match Racing Ranking as published on 1st February 2025.
  • If multiple skippers are unranked, entries will be allocated to skippers representing different member clubs to those already entered based on NoR 4.6.1.
  • If all skippers are of different member clubs to those already entered on NoR 4.6.1 or being considered for entry, then entry will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Entry Process

Team Event

To apply for this competition:

  1. Entries will need to be submitted via the team entries section of our online entry system, BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  2. Please speak to your Institution Administrator as they will need to enter the correct number of teams for you.
  3. Competitors then need to apply for the respective event. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
  4. Institution Administrators must assign competitors to the correct team during the approval process. (Instructions on how to do this can be found here)
