Progression to finals

Progression to the finals in the evening will be calculated using scores from your climbing session. The top 6 male and female climbers progress to the final. Competitors are welcome to stay and spectate – There will be an area set aside to accommodate this.

For the finals, we have two judges outside of an institution to remove any bias and this will allow for a seamless yet gripping final!

Presentations

Presentations will take place immediately after the final climb-offs, at around 22:00. Presentations will be made for the Male & Female Winners, and the Male & Female Team Overall Team Winners.

Sustainability

The sustainability of our event matters to us and these are the positive steps we are taking to manage our environmental impact:

  • All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
  • We have used local suppliers where possible
  • Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use

How can you help at this event? Here’s some ideas:

  • Be self-sufficient by using refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste
  • Travel smarter – as a team on a minibus, cycle or use public transport
  • Go paperless - use your phone for all event information

Clothing

It is requested that any vests/university branded clothing is worn, particularly for the finals should you qualify for this. Please, if possible, bring any university kit to wear and represent your institution!

Questions

All questions should be communicated by an institution’s athletic union or students’ union staff member to: Jodie Lawrence, BUCS event lead.
