Registration

Competitors must register at least 30 minutes before starting Round 1. Competitors are encouraged to register as soon as they arrive at the venue. Registration will be located in the Clubhouse.

Competitors must show their student ID on arrival. Competitors who do not register may have their tee time withdrawn. Players need to come to registration area each day to collect their scorecard.

Competitors are encouraged to use and update Golfbox for their scoring so the tournament can provide up to date live scoring.

As per the rules of golf, competitors who do not show for their tee time will be disqualified.

Timetable

All rounds will take place on the Lansdowne Course

Round 1 (Monday): Starting at 08:00, 9-minute intervals, groups of 3, random order.

Round 2 (Tuesday): Starting at 08:00, 9-minute intervals, groups of 3, reverse score order.

Round 3 (Tuesday): Starting at 13:00, 9-minute intervals, groups of 3, reverse score order.

Round 4 (Wednesday): Starting at 08:00, 9-minute intervals, groups of 3, reverse score order.

  • Tee times will be emailed out through Golfbox and will be available on the 'Tee times/results' tab.
  • The Men’s Championship will be off the blue tees and the Women’s Championship will be off the red tees
  • There will be a cut after round 3 in the Men’s competition to 24 including ties
  • There will be no cut for female players

Practice Rounds

Practice rounds are available between 14:00-16:00 on Sunday 6th April 2025

These are bookable directly through the pro shop at a cost of £30.00 per player.

Driving Range

Competitors will be given 1 range token prior to each round free of charge.

Please note: The driving range next to the 18th Hole on Rosemount is Irons only. The range a short drive away in Carsie is full length.

Course Guides

Course guides will be provided to each competitor free of charge and can be collected from the BUCS Registration desk.

Pin Positions

The pin positions will be changed daily, and a copy will be hosted at the BUCS Registration desk for competitors to review. Please click below to download a copy of the pin positions for all three days.

Hole 17: The ruling when GUR in a bunker and ball in bunker, you can play it or it will be your nearest point of complete relief and one club length but need to stay in the bunker or you can go back on the line outside the bunker for one penalty stroke.

Course Etiquette

Competitors are expected to dress appropriately when in the clubhouse; trainers, sandals, jeans and sportswear are not permitted indoors. Competitors must therefore bring a change of clothes and footwear for use in the clubhouse. No hard spiked golf shoes or hats are permitted in the clubhouse.

Changing Facilities

There are changing facilities and showers located within the clubhouse. A limited number of lockers are available. BUCS cannot be held responsible for any loss of valuables or equipment during the event.

Order of Merit

This event forms part of the BUCS Golf Tour and Macpherson Order of Merit.

The Winner of the season long order of Merit will also be announced at the conclusion of this event.

Points for the OOM will be awarded to the top 20 men and top 20 women as detailed in the BUCS Golf Rules and Regulations.

Withdrawals

Withdrawals must be made in writing by the athletic union or students’ union and e-mailed to Maddi Cannell, the BUCS Sport Event Manager.

Withdrawals after the entry closing date (Thursday 27th March 2024) will still be charged the entry fee (Reg 3.2.4).

Withdrawal of a competitor does not guarantee a replacement into the competition. Reserves will only be charged an entry fee if they are accepted into the competition. Competitors who do not withdraw, and do not register at the venue, will be classified as a ‘no-show’ and charged the entry fee and an additional £50 fine payable by the competitor’s athletic union or students’ union (Reg 4.4).

Photography and Videography

During this event, various filming, photography, and broadcasting may take place. By your presence at this event, you grant your permission for your likeness and voice to be included in pictures and/or on film, and their advertising without compensation or credit.  

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event
