Update 10 March: This event will be held on 11 April 2021 in line with current guidance issued by British Triathlon, whereby events are permitted from 29 March. Please note should guidance change prior to the event, the event could be cancelled.
Competitors should take into consideration government guidance around travel, sharing vehicles and overnight stays before entering the event.
In order to be compliant with government and NGB guidance the organisers will be implementing the following measures to keep competitors safe:
- Athletes will start in a time trial format - with regular breaks to ensure it is never too crowded anywhere & the faster athletes will start at the beginning of the field
- With the above in mind, it is vital that athletes get their estimated times correct. There is no scope for changes after entries close, so please check entry details carefully
- Transition will be neutralised, so for about 90 seconds the clock will stop in transition, so it is not part of the race. This avoids athletes needing to get close to each other at the bike rack
- There will be set times to remove bikes from transition after the race, and also to exit the venue.
- BUCS Athletes will be kept separate from the rest of the field, including separate car parking at the event.
- Temperature checks will be a requirement on entry into transition
- Timing chips will be placed in transition on racking
