Route

 

The race uses the A10/28 course just outside Nottingham. The course has been used for over 15 years by Nottingham Clarion CC. The course records are currently held by University of Nottingham Alumni, Michael Gill, with a time of 18:51 and Francesca Hall, from Loughborough University, with a time of 22:12! Course Description: Start on the Cotgrave to Harby Road (Colston Road) adjacent to a triangular area of grass verge immediately southeast of the crossroads at the Small People Nursery, Cropwell Bishop. Proceed via Colston Bassett to Harby 5.003 miles (T junction, Give Way). Turn left and proceed through the village and onward to Langar where bear first left into Cropwell Road, 7.54 miles. Forward and continue to the Finish adjacent to the Cropwell Bishop Village sign, 150 yards before a pair of 30mph Speed Restriction signs prior to the descent into the village, 10 miles.

Competitor Information

1. In the interest of safety all riders must have a white front liight and red rear light, as well as wear a hard-shell helmet that meets CTT Regulations.

No Lights = No Ride

No Helmet = No Ride

2. This is a sporting course with an imperfect road surface in some loctions; please take care when entering Harby Village and passing through Langar.

3. A rider who is observed to be riding dangerously or with their head down will be disqualified and reported to the CTT District Committee for further action.

4. After finishing, riders should continue straight through Cropwell Bishop and sign out at HQ. Riders should not distract the timekeepers, as times will be listed at the HQ.

5. Riders should not queue more than 3 deep at the start due to the crossroads.

6. At 1.46 miles, riders should be aware that the road narrows over a bridge into Colston Bassett, where riders do not have priority.

7. Riders must use the numbers provided by the race organisers only. They must be clearly visible from the rear when in a normal riding position

8. Riders must sign in before & out after the race, or their time will be recorded as a DNS/DNF.

HQ and Car Parks

The HQ has a new location for this rearranged event, which is a 5km cycle from the start. There is limited car parking on site, so please park sensibly on nearby roads if required. It is approximately a 40 minute bike ride from Nottingham Train Station and a 25 minute drive from the M1.

Sign-on will open at 8:30 a.m. Shortly after all riders have finished, medals will be presented at HQ.

The routes to and from the start/finish/HQ will be signposted. If you arrive at the start ahead of your time, please do not warm up on the course. The route from HQ to the start can be viewed and downloaded here

 

BUCS Points and Medals

Please read Appendix 1 in conjunction with Regulation 6 for a full breakdown of BUCS Points available.

The Open Team competition will be made up of an institution's top 3 riders, the Female Team Competition will be made up of an institution's top 2 riders.

Photography & Videography

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue
