The match shall consist of one innings of 50 overs per side
Team Information
Arrival
Teams should arrive via Grace Gate. Please note, Lords does not have parking so teams are strongly advised to travel using a coach or public transport.
Coaches are not permitted to enter the ground but can drop off and pick up on St John Wood’s Road outside Grace Gate.
When entering you should walk straight ahead until you reach the Pavilion on your right-hand side.
Registration
Time: 8:45am
Location: Writing Room in the Pavilion
All players are required to provide valid student identification at registration (i.e. student card). Anyone without the relevant identification may not be permitted to compete.
You will be directed to your changing room from here.
Team Sheets
Please complete the following team sheet.
All competitors must be listed on their team sheet on BUCS Play as well as providing a paper team sheet.
PLEASE LIST YOUR PLAYERS IN BATTING ORDER ON YOUR PAPER TEAM SHEET. The team sheet should be emailed in advance to Erin Simmonds by Wednesday 26 June 2024.
Anyone listed on the paper team sheet who is not in the squad on BUCS Play will not be able to compete.
Scorers
Teams are required to provide a scorer in line with Appendix 5. They must have the means to calculate the Duckworth Lewis method if needed (ideally software installed on a laptop).
Please state the name of your scorer on your team sheet.
Match Balls
BUCS will provide match play balls. Teams are responsible for their own warm-up and training balls.
CRI 7.2 All other league and knockout competition matches Grade A standard and English manufactured pink balls shall be used, unless agreed with the opposition to use red balls. BUCS recommends the Oxbridge Windsor Ball for men and the Oxbridge Kensington Ball for women.
Warm up
The Nursery End nets can be used as part of your warm-up. They can also be used the day before your match as practise. If you would like to use the nets the day before, please email a list of names who will be attending (including coaches) to Erin Simmonds by Wednesday 26 June 2024 with a time slot of when you would like to train. You cannot turn up individually, you must arrive as a group.
Team Photos
Team photographs will take place on the pitch at 10:15. You must be ready for this time and dressed in your playing kit.
Kit
CRI 8.2 All other league and knockout competition matches All teams are strongly encouraged to play in coloured clothing although this is not mandatory, but all players within the team must be in the same kit. Coloured tops and white trousers, white tops and coloured trousers, or traditional whites are acceptable. Teams are not permitted to wear kit which is predominantly pink, unless agreed with the opposition.
Team Catering
Lunch will be provided for 15 members of each team – this includes your 13 playing squad, one coach and your scorer.
Please complete the player form by 5pm Wednesday 26 June, which has been sent to Institution Administrators, to inform us of any dietary requirements.
Post-Match Reception
A post-match reception will take place in the Writing Room (same room as registration) after the game has finished. This is an opportunity for all players and coaches to get together after the match for some refreshments.
Attendees of the post-match reception must adhere to the Pavilion dress code.
Pavilion Dress Code
The dress code for admission into the Lord’s Pavilion is strict.
Smart formal attire is to be worn by all attendees. Men are required to be in jacket and tie, women are required to be in smart attire. Guests wearing jeans, sportswear or trainers will not be allowed into the Pavilion.

Spectator Information
Tickets
Tickets are available to purchase from the Lord's website here.
Ticket price:
- £20 Adult ticket
- £5 concession ticket – students are included in concession price.
Please note, ticket prices are determined by the venue.
All tickets are unreserved seating within the Tavern Stand.
Spectator Arrival
Spectators can enter using either the North Gate or Grace Gate. Gates open for spectators at 9:30am.
Spectator Catering
There will be food and drink available for spectators to purchase from the Lord’s Tavern Pub (located at Grace Gate Entrance). Food and drink can be taken to the stand.
The bars will be open in the Pavilion for those who have access.
Parking
Parking is not available at Lords. All spectators are strongly advised to travel using public transport.
Presentations
Presentations will take place on the pitch as soon as possible after the final has finished. A maximum of 13 medals will be awarded to the squad on the day.
Photography & Videography
Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Cricket Championship Finals Media Accreditation Form by Thursday 27 June.
The names of those who complete the form will be passed on to Lord’s. They must go to the North Gate for collection of their media accreditation. This will give them access to the perimeter of the outfield and the media centre. They will not be given pitch access.
Please note, if you intend on taking photos using a mobile phone you are not required to complete the form. You will not be given pitch side access, this is reserved for those with cameras. You will need a ticket to enter the ground and must remain in the spectator areas.
The game must not be livestreamed. Permission to film for performance analysis purposes is still being determined and we will update in due course.
BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.
Sustainability
The sustainability of our event matters to us and these are the positive steps we are taking to manage our environmental impact:
- All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
- We have used local suppliers where possible
- Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use
