Registration and Timings

Friday

  • 1400-1800 - Bib collection at Grandtully Station Park - for all classes and distances except Sunday Team races. Sunday Team bibs are given out on Sunday
  • Control open at Grandtully Station Park for any queries/questions

 

Saturday - everything on Saturday is at Grandtully Station Park

  • 0745 Control open for bib collection for all individual bibs - same bib numbers for both days
  • 0745 Boat/kit scrutinising being carried out
  • 0815 Briefing for all competitors
  • 0830 Racing starts
  • 1500 Last start times for Saturday racing
  • Prize giving - asap after racing finished and results checked/published
  • Briefing for Sunday - at end of Saturday prizegiving

 

Sunday - based at Aberfeldy Slalom Site, Aberfeldy

  • 0745 Control open for bib collection for TEAM bibs (plus anyone doing Classic individual that did not do Saturday Sprints)
  • Racing starts at 0830, upstream in Aberfeldy. Classic individual races followed by Team races
  • Prize giving - asap after racing finished and results checked/published

Sprint event - Saturday 18th Nov - River Tay, Grandtully rapids -

Get on water:    Take Lageonan Rd and cross A827. Get on at the road bridge - on the south bank

Sprint Start:      Just downstream of the road bridge on south bank, as directed
Sprint Finish:     Below the “Fourth fall”, the rapid below the road bridge

Get off water:   Just below race finish. Exit river on south bank to the layby used by canoeists and rafters


Classic event - Sunday 19th Nov - River Tay, Aberfeldy

Classic Start:     Upstream of Wade’s Bridge, Taybridge Drive, Aberfeldy
Classic Finish:    Aberfeldy Slalom Course/Beyond Adventure, Aberfeldy

Withdrawals

Withdrawals at any time should inform race control, either in person at Grandtully Station Campsite on Saturday and Aberfeldy on Sunday or via [email protected]

If the withdrawal is in advance of the event, please notify Harry Spinks in the first instance.

Grandtully Station Campsite, Grandtully, by Pitlochry, PH9 0PL. Please park as directed by marshalls.
 

Classic event - Sunday
Parking at Start - Taybridge Terrace, Aberfeldy
Parking at Finish - Aberfeldy Slalom Site / Beyond Adventure

First Aid

The First Aid point will be at the finish.

Presentations

Results will be published (online and locally) as soon as they are available after each event. Prize giving will take place at Grandtully on Saturday and Aberfeldy on Sunday.

Clothing and Equipment

Participants should be aware that taking part in outdoor watersports in Scotland in November requires appropriate kit and clothing to be worn, on and off the water. There are no drying facilities at Grandtully Station Campsite therefore participants should bring sufficient quality and quantity of kit/clothing, with the expectation that kit/clothing will not get dry during the event. In addition to paddling clothing please bring sufficient warm and waterproof clothing to last you through the weekend.
