Sprint Event
Venue & Date - Saturday 6th Nov - River Tay, Grandtully rapids
Walk down Lageonan Road from Grandtully Station Park and cross A827 to access riverbank
Get on water: Upstream of the Inn on the Tay - on the south bank
Sprint Start: Gabion baskets on north side of river (this is where Grandtully slalom events start)
Sprint Finish: Downstream of the green bridge and above the final rapid
Get off water: Downstream of the finish and upstream of final rapid. River right, south bank
Walk up south bank for subsequent runs and to retrace route to Grandtully Station Park
Classic Event
Get on water: Upstream of the Sprint start - from south bank, closest to Grandtully Park
Pre-start: Get on the river by Aberfeldy Slalom Course by the cemetery
Classic Start: North side of the river at Edradynate
Classic Finish: Same as Sprint finish - below the bridge and above the final rapid
Get off water: River right, south side, downstream of the finish and upstream of final rapid
Walk up south bank, cross A827 and walk up Lageonan Road to Grandtully Station Park

Registration
Race control throughout the events will be at Grandtully Station Park. All competitors will be issued with a numbered race bib before racing. This must be worn by the competitor to which it is issued at all times whilst on the water on Saturday and Sunday.
All bibs will be collected immediately after racing on Sunday. Anyone competing in the sprint but not the classic will be asked to return their bib Saturday pm
Registration and race number bib collection will be open at the following times at Grandtully Station Park:
- Friday 5 November 1600-1800 - bib collection
- Saturday 6 November 0800-0900 - bib collection
- Saturday 6 November 1600-1800 - bib collection and return
- Sunday 7 November 0800-0900 - bib collection and return
Sunday 7 November 1300-1700 - bib return

* There is a pre-start paddle on Sunday for the Classic event. It takes around 20-30 minutes to reach the Classic start - depending on craft, river flow etc.
Parking
Sprint event - Saturday
Everyone should park at Grandtully Station Park, Grandtully, by Pitlochry, PH9 0PL. Additional event parking has been arranged. Please park as directed by the marshalls on duty.
To reach the river, walk down Lageonan Road from Grandtully Station Park, cross the A827 road. Walk up the riverbank on the south side to get on. Paddle across the river to the north bank to reach the Sprint start.
Classic event - Sunday
Parking at Pre-Start - at Aberfeldy Slalom Course, Riverside, Aberfeldy, PH15 2EB
Parking at Finish - Grandtully Station Park, Grandtully, by Pitlochry, PH9 0PL
Changing Facilities
Grandtully Station Park and Campsite facilities are available for changing and toilets. Two accessible toilets are available. Additional portaloos will be provided. Further portaloos will be provided at the Classic race pre-start, at Aberfeldy Slalom Course by the cemetery.
Food & Drink
Strathtay Stores is on the north side of the river just up from the green bridge. It is open daily
8am-6pm and 9am-4pm on Sunday. It contains a Post Office and cash machine (inside the building)
Inn on the Tay is open Wednesday to Sunday and has a restaurant and bar serving food and drinks
Grandtully Hotel is open daily and has a restaurant and bar serving food and drinks
Highland Chocolatier is open daily 10am-5pm serving coffees, teas and snacks in its cafe
COOP in Aberfeldy is open till 10pm each day. There is also a petrol station.
Presentations
Results will be published (online and locally) as soon as they are available after each event. Prize giving will take place at Grandtully Station Park as soon as the results have been compiled and verified.
Covid-19 Measures
The safety of students, volunteers and staff remains paramount as we move into the 2021-22 season, therefore for the time being we will still be implementing a series of Covid-19 Measures at our events. Although certain safety measures surrounding Covid-19 will be dictated by a venue or specific sport requirements we will be continuing to implement the following general measures across all of our events:

- Whist inside staff members and volunteers interacting with competitors will be wearing appropriate face coverings
- Covid-19 questionnaire completed prior to arrival at the event by all competitors, officials, volunteers and support staff.
- Access to hand-washing facilities, or hand sanitiser
What’s expected of competitors:
- Event competitors should stay home if they have any Covid-19 symptoms, live in the same household with someone with Covid-19 symptoms or have been diagnosed with, or suspected to have, Covid-19 in the past 10 days
- Competitors should stay home if they have been instructed to quarantine due to international travel restrictions or by NHS Track and Trace
- Competitors must follow direction from event staff, venue staff and volunteers.
- Competitors must complete Covid-19 questionnaire prior to arrival at the event
- Competitors should ensure they are following hand hygiene practices at all times
- Competitors are encouraged to wear a face covering when indoors and moving about the building
- Competitors should follow the guidance and safety procedures outlined for the event you are attending. These can be found in the Event Guide once released.
- Competitors unable to attend event due to Covid-19 must contact the event lead
Lateral Flow Tests and Vaccine Status
- For some events, dependent on local council recommendations or venue requirements we may require proof of negative PCR or rapid lateral flow tests within the last 48 hours or proof of being fully vaccinated for a least 2 weeks.
- If this is required it will be detailed in the entry information and the event guide for that event.
The safety of everyone remains paramount in the 2021-22 season. Everyone attending this event must comply with current UK Government and Scottish Government regulations at all times.
At the publication date of this Event Guide, it remains mandatory to wear face coverings indoors in Scotland except where specific exemptions apply.
Access to hand-washing facilities and hand sanitiser will be provided at Grandtully Station Park, where Race Control is located.

Clothing & Equipment
Participants should be aware that taking part in outdoor watersports in Scotland in November requires appropriate kit and clothing to be worn, on and off the water. There are no drying facilities at Grandtully Station Park/Campsite therefore participants should bring sufficient quality and quantity of kit/clothing, with the expectation that kit/clothing will not get dry during the event. In addition to paddling clothing please bring sufficient warm and waterproof clothing to last you through the weekend.
Practice
Teams are welcome to practice on the course on Friday.
