Institution Information

The following is requested from the host:

- If likely to send a coach or bus, please provide advanced notice.

- For every 10 athletes competing, 1 volunteer is requested to help with the event.

Parking

University of Bath

More information www.bath.ac.uk/locations/east-car-park.  The car park is advertised online as free after 5pm.  Please ensure you have checked for yourself the restrictions for where you park on arrival.

Iffley Sports Centre:

For Oxford

There is NO PARKING at the Iffley Road sports centre.  This year (2025) we have unfortunately not been able to source a nearby car park.  Drop-off will be possible.  We would advise using Thornhill park and ride to St Clements, the sports centre is a short walk from there.  Please allow time to use the park and ride and pack kit accordingly.  Important: Please note that athlete parking is not available at Iffley Road Sports Complex in Oxford (protected with ANPR system) and Oxford is almost exclusively residents parking only on side roads.  Any cars left at Iffley Road Sports Centre after 7:30pm risk being locked in overnight and fined.

Disabled parking is available at the sports centre (numberplates must be submitted in advance).
Iffley Road Sports Centre have 5 dedicated parking spaces available for those with a Blue Badge. 3 are situated along the side of the main hall but there are 2 ‘overspill’ spaces behind the Acer sports hall (access is gained by keeping to the left of the main cycle park). The access road and the 2 spaces are in a shared area with pedestrians and cyclists so any drivers parking here will need to be vigilant. Otherwise there is no parking behind the Acer hall. Access to the main hall for wheelchair users is through the double doors and via the main entrance for all other facilities.

  • Oxford is almost exclusively residents parking only on side roads.  Please allow plenty of time for the park and ride.
  • Please note Rail Station is on other side of Oxford City.
  • For disabled parking please submit Reg. No. in advance.

Arriving by vehicle (via Thornhill Park and Ride, OX3 8DP):

Sustainability

The sustainability of our event matters to us and these are the positive steps we are taking to manage our environmental impact:

  • All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport

  • We have used local suppliers where possible

  • Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use

  • We will print on demand merchandise (if applicable)

  • We are beginning to track our carbon footprint across BUCS events to identify areas of improvement.

How can you help at this event? Here’s some ideas:

  • Be self-sufficient by bringing your own refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste

  • Ensure you are disposing of waste correctly – Check around the venue for specific recycling and food waste bins

  • Travel smarter – as a team on a minibus, cycle or use public transport

  • Go paperless - use your phone for all event information
