Please note that Modern Triathlon is being run as a pilot event for this year and therefore no BUCS points will be available for this competition.

In the case of oversubscription, institutions will be asked to provide a ranked list of athletes. An equal number of athletes from each institution will be selected based on the ranking until all spaces are filled.

It is possible the timetable can accommodate over-subscription in one class if others are under subscribed.

To apply for the competition all eligible competitors must follow these steps:

1.       Competitor to apply to the event on BUCS Play (Instructions on how to do this can be found here

2.       Institution administrator approves entry (Instructions on how to do this can be found here

3.       BUCS approves/denies entry into competition and publishes confirmed entry list

Institution Information

The following is requested from the host:

- If likely to send a coach or bus, please provide advanced notice.

- For every 10 athletes competing, 1 volunteer is requested to help with the event.

Guest Entries

If the event has capacity, non-student and non-BUCS institution student guests will be permitted to enter all categories.  If an institution permits, alumni guests should enter their institution as ‘Guest’ when applying to join the relevant category.

Guests may qualify for and compete in a final round but will not displace a student competitor (i.e. they will compete in the final in addition to the top 8 student competitors), and cannot medal.  Guest scores will also not accrue or contribute towards BUCS points or teams. Guest entries will not be permitted to compete in BUCS Knockout.

Please note that guest entries are provisional and may be subject to withdrawal if the event reaches capacity with BUCS student entries.

Withdrawals

Please see REG 7.9 for our withdrawal policy

Para-Sport

There will be no para categories for the 2024-25 event, however we are exploring ways to implement a para category for future events.
