The final draw will be published on SportyHQ on Thursday 28 November.

To limit first round BYEs each withdrawal will be replaced with competitors from the grade below if appropriate. Competitors should check the FINAL DRAW which will be uploaded onto the website on Thursday 28 November. 

You must be ready to play at the scheduled time of your match. Please follow results on SportyHQ and ask at the tournament desk to check any last-minute changes. Ensure you have checked the time of your next match after your previous one. Any player who is not at their game within 20 minutes after the scheduled start time will forfeit the game. A link to SportyHQ will be available when the draw goes live.

All players must register at their venue at least 30 MINUTES prior to their first match time each day. Late arrivals cannot have their match rescheduled and so will be scratched from the event (including the plate) and be subject to a fine for DNS.

The following fines apply:

• Withdrawals after Version 1 of draw has been released (Thursday 21 November) will receive a £50 fine.
• Withdrawals as of Wednesday 27 November will receive a £75 fine.  
• No shows on the day will receive a £100 fine.
• Withdrawals during the competition will receive a £25 fine.  

Medical notes will only be accepted for new injuries. If you have an existing medical condition and choose to enter the competition you will still face a fine if you withdraw.

It is MANDATORY for all players under the age of 19 during the championships including on the last day of the championships must wear protective eye wear.

All presentations will take place after the final game on Sunday 1 December at the David Ross Sports Village on the show court. There will be trophies for each category winner, runner-up and plate winner.

All competitors competing at Nottingham Squash Racket Club and some competing at David Ross will be required to mark games on the ‘Score Squash’ App. We will not be using paper scoresheets.

Please download the ‘Score Squash’ app to your smart phone from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. There will be some tablets available at registration to use. Please ensure these are returned to registration when not being used.

Officiating

Most games will be marked by an England Squash referee. However, there will also be games that competitors will be required to mark using the ‘Score Squash’ app. If an umpire does not arrive for the game after yours, the winner of your game will be required to mark it.

Parking

Parking restrictions on campus apply Monday-Friday and all visitors will be required to display a ticket from the machine or alternatively make use of the RingGo app service. Visitors of the David Ross Sports Village can make use of 2 hours free parking with a ticket or via the app.

There are no parking charges over the weekend but please park in an appropriately marked bay and adhere to any guidance displayed.  No parking is permitted on grassed areas.

A map of campus can be found attached with parking options immediately surrounding the David Ross Sports Village, on Beeston Lane and at the following halls of residences which are in close proximity to the sports village: Beeston Lane, Sherwood Hall, Derby Hall, Bowling Green, Ancaster, Cavendish or Willoughby Hall.

Changing Facilities / Bag Storage

There are accessible changing facilities located on the ground floor of David Ross Sports Village. These are not exclusive use for BUCS competitors.

We STRONGLY advise competitors to utilise the lockers located around the corridors of David Ross Sports Village. You will need to bring a padlock should you wish to use the lockers.

Competitors can utilise the area between courts 3-6 as a bag drop. Please do not block walkways and note that bags are left at the competitors own risk.

Food Drink

The University of Nottingham Clubhouse Café will be open from 08:00-19:00 for the duration of the competition. This can be found just inside the entrance to the David Ross Sports Village.

Officiating

Those playing at the Nottingham Squash Rackets Club will be required to mark the next match on court after yours using the ‘Score Squash’ app, as there will be no referees present. The winner of your game MUST mark the following game. Please support the event and help it get started on time each day by volunteering to mark one of the first games of the day!

Parking

Limited parking is available. Please only park in the highlighted areas shown on the parking permit. You will need to display this permit if parking in the car park or on the permitted areas on the road.

Permits will be available to collect on a stand on your right-hand side as you enter the club or you can print them in advance.

The club is a 15-20 minute walk from Nottingham Train Station.

Changing Facilities / Disability Access / Bag Storage

Changing rooms are available.

There is a bag store just before the first set of double doors on the right-hand side. Bags can also be stored in changing rooms and outside courts 7-10. Please note, bags are left at your own risk.

Food / Drink

Sandwiches and soft drinks will be available to purchase at the club.

There is a water fountain located upstairs, outside the gym.

BUCS and the University of Nottingham have collaborated to provide a PSA Foundation kit donation box will be available at David Ross Sports Village. Any kit collected, will either be donated to support community squash initiatives in Nottingham or the PSA global grassroots programme.

Please donate any unwanted or old kit and equipment you no longer need, any donations will be appreciated!

Anyone wishing to take photos or video at this event must complete the BUCS Media Accreditation Form prior to the event.

BUCS reserves the right to prohibit photography equipment being used at a BUCS event. BUCS reserves the right to request that the individual ceases to take photographs, deletes any images and, if considered necessary, leaves the venue.

BUCS is working with England Squash to deliver the England Squash ‘Calling The Shots' workshop at the BUCS Squash Individual Championships. The course will be held at David Ross Sports Village on Sunday 1 December, 13:00-14:00.

• All staff and volunteers are encouraged to travel to the event via public transport
• We have used local suppliers where possible
• Event programmes are all online, minimising paper use

How can you help at this event? Here’s some ideas:

• Be self-sufficient by using refillable bottles and coffee cups to reduce waste. There are water refill stations at both venues and you will receive 20p off your coffee at David Ross Sports Village if bringing your own re-usable coffee cup.
• Travel smarter – as a team on a minibus, cycle or use public transport
• Go paperless - use your phone for all event information
