Awards Nominations 2016

Nominations are now CLOSED for the BUCS Awards 2016.

Tickets for those at member institutions not booked onto conference as full delegates will be available for purchase at a price of £75 on Monday 13th June.

Any remaining tickets will be made available to the wider sector on Monday 27th June.

The BUCS Awards recognise the achievements and successes of athletes and teams as well as acknowledging the contribution from volunteers, club officials and coaches who support and develop university sport.

Institutions can submit one nomination for each category and all nominations must be supported by the relevant AU or Sports Department.

Full details of the awards and criteria can be viewed by clicking on the link below and nominations must be submitted using the on-line form by midnight on Monday 16th May. The shortlist will be announced on Monday 23rd May.

BUCS Awards 2016 

BUCS Sportsman of the Year
Celebrates the domestic and/or international success of a current student studying at a BUCS member institution who has competed for their institution in BUCS this academic year. The award will recognise the highest possible standard of competition achieved by an eligible student.

BUCS Sportswoman of the Year
Celebrates the domestic and/or international success of a current student studying at a BUCS member institution who has competed for their institution in BUCS this academic year. The award will recognise the highest possible standard of competition achieved by an eligible student.

Kukri Team of the Year Award 
Sponsored by Kukri this award celebrates the domestic or international, success of a student team competing in BUCS and/or a BUCS representative team that has attended a FISU sanctioned competition. This is a team award focusing on performance achievements and not a club award focussing on development success. 

Student Volunteer of the Year
Recognises the student volunteer who has supported BUCS work across any number of competitions, domestic or international, performance or participation driven projects and programmes

BUCS Unsung Hero
Nominations for this award are for an individual that has worked tirelessly and without broader recognition to support student sport at any level over a sustained period (more than one year)

#TakeAStand Award
Nominations for this award are for an institution that has shown the most proactive effort to ensure sport is inclusive and accessible for their students.

Club of the Year
The award recognises a club that has demonstrated a commitment to development resulting in increased participation, inclusion and diversity in its membership.  

A.D Munrow Award - Outstanding Contribution to Higher Education Sport
This award celebrates a remarkable individual who has made a significant contribution to university sport and has been instrumental in supporting, growing and developing university sport
